Introduction The A.M.I.T. is housed in a sprawling green area of 132 acres of land, 15 kms. West from Bounsi,Banka District. Bounsi is well connected to Bhagalpur,Jasidih,Deoghar and Dumka by bus. The nearest Railway Station is Mandar Hill (Bounsi) Station.
Therailway line from Bhagalpur-Bounsi is already planned to connect Rampurhat,Which is linked with Howrah and Guwahati.Tht nearby airport are at the Deoghar ,Ranchi, Gaya, Patna and at Kolkata. Bhagalpur, the silk city is 50 kms.
Away from the Institute.It takes about 30 minutes by road to reach NTPC, Kahalgaon from Bhagalpur. Banka is very close to the source of raw materials needed for heavy industries, itsproximity to Jharkhand (bordering Deoghar, Dumka and Godda) and non-perennial river like Chandan makes it a very strong contender for coal-based power plant investment and other heavy industry. Jas Infrastructure Capital (a company of Abhijeet Group) is setting up 2640MW(4x660 MW) coal based power unit at Bounsi Block.
This Project spreads over 1,573 acres of land and will be implemented in two phases, phase-I with 2x 660 MW and phase-II with 2x660MW capacity. Bounsi is famous for the Mandar Hill,having its mention in Indian Scriptures for the significant role played in Samudra Manthan. A Jain temple at the summit in close proximity to the Vishnu temple is a sign of religious harmony.
Mandar Mahotsav, Bounsi Mela, Makar Sankrati and Rath Yatra of Lord Madhusudan alike to the world famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath,Puri, Odisha celebrated here every year as a symbol of cultural integrity.
Our Founder
Our Founder (Anand Shankar Madhavan (1914-2007)
Anand Shankar Madhavan,a visionary and legendary luminary sacrificed and dedicated his whole life for the cause of social service and promotion of ideal and quality education for the younger generation. Being a non-Hindi speaking Keralite, he chose to remain at this remote place with rural surrounding of Mandar Hill keeping in view to propagate Hindi language among the masses.
He established Mandar Vidyapith in 1945 and later on founded Adwaita Mission in 1990.Madhavan,a product of Jamia Milla, an old pupil and a devout disciple of Late Dr. Zakir Hussain was a staunch nationalist, great freedom fighter, true Gandhian, devoted philanthropist as well as a renowned social worker. A man of simple living but high thinking, he was a literary figure, man of academic repute, thinker and a write par excellence with philosophical instincts.
He wrote more than 55 books on varied subjects viz., literature, culture, education, religion etc. He had a keen desire to develop various educational institutions for the development of the region as well as of the state.
