Introduction of Bhartiya Ayurvedic Medical College

Bhartiya Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Amroha, most students just call it BAMC Amroha, is a private Ayurveda college in UP. It opened in 2017 and is part of the IMS group of Institutions. It is located on NH-24 in the Delhi-NCR stretch, near Brijghat on the Ganga. So if you’re coming from Delhi, Meerut, Hapur, or Moradabad, you can reach here without much difficulty. The college is tied up with Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University, Gorakhpur, and it’s got approval from NCISM and the Ministry of AYUSH. That basically means your BAMS degree from here is legit for practice anywhere in India, and you can sit for PG too.

There’s a 100-bed Ayurvedic hospital on campus. You don’t spend 4 years just learning concepts by heart. From 2nd year itself you’re sent to OPDs, Panchakarma, and Ksharsutra units. Patients come in from Amroha, Sambhal, and nearby villages daily, so you get to see a lot of real cases in Kayachikitsa, Shalya, Shalakya, all that. That early patient touch helps a lot later.Fees are something everyone asks about. For a private BAMS college in UP, BAMC is cheaper than most. Tuition is about ₹2,49,300 per year under management quota. Hostel and food are extra, but even then the total is still below what other private colleges ask for. No hidden charges or donations.

Currently, BAMS is the only course available at the college, and 60 students are admitted each year. You’ll see 100 seats mentioned on old websites, but the current intake is 60. The course is 5.5 years, same everywhere: 4.5 years study + 1 year internship in their own hospital. Admission is only through NEET UG. After that you go through UP AYUSH counselling. No direct entry.

Courses You Can Study at BAMC Amroha

Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery runs for 5.5 years total. First 4.5 years you’re in class, labs, and hospital rounds. The last year is a full-time internship in their own 100-bed hospital, so you’re not running around looking for a place to do it.

The course is broken into three parts of 1.5 years each.

  • The first part is all the basics – Sanskrit, Padarth Vigyan, Rachana Sharir, Kriya Sharir.
  • The second part gets into herbs and medicines – Dravyaguna, Rasashastra, and Roga Nidan where you learn diagnosis.
  • The final part is where it gets real- Kayachikitsa, Shalya, Shalakya, Prasuti Tantra, Kaumarbhritya, Panchakarma. You’ll be in OPDs a lot by then.

Only 60 seats per year. All through NEET UG and UP AYUSH counselling. No backdoor entries.

Once you’re done with BAMS and internship, you can register with the UP Ayurveda Board and start seeing patients. If you’re thinking about MD or MS in Ayurveda, you’ll have to write an AIAPGET and pick another college, because BAMC Amroha hasn’t started PG courses yet.

Financial Help Available for BAMC Amroha Students

Since it’s private, there’s no government fee refund like state colleges. But UP domicile students from SC, ST, OBC, Minority, or EWS can apply for UP Post Matric Scholarship if family income is under ₹2 Lakh. That covers tuition for eligible students. You can also apply for NSP central scholarships like PM-USP or Central Sector Scheme if you meet merit and income criteria.

The college itself doesn’t offer its own scholarship, but the admin helps with paperwork. During internship you don’t get a stipend because it’s a private college. Education loans from SBI, PNB, and other banks are commonly used by students here.

A few real things to know:

1. UP Scholarship works – A lot of students here actually get it. You have to fill the form on the UP scholarship portal every year and submit docs at the college. If you’re eligible, tuition becomes almost free.

2. No college scholarship – BAMC itself doesn’t give merit or need-based discounts. What you see in the fee structure is what you pay.

3. Loans are common – Most students who don’t get scholarships take loans from SBI, PNB, or Canara Bank. The college gives bonafide and fee structure letters for that.

4. No money during internship – Unlike govt colleges, you won’t get paid in your final year. Plan for mess and hostel costs that year too.

Getting Into BAMC Amroha: The Admission Process

Only NEET UG counts. After results, register for UP AYUSH counselling done by the Directorate of AYUSH, UP. Fill BAMC Amroha in your choices. Seats are allotted by NEET rank, category, and reservation. Once you get allotment, report to the college with documents, pay fees, and join. No direct admission or management seats outside counselling.

1. First thing, clear NEET UG

You need a NEET score that year. Doesn’t matter if it’s BAMS or MBBS, NEET is a must for AYUSH now. If you don’t write NEET, forget it. No score means no seat, end of story.

2. Then wait for UP AYUSH counselling

Once NEET results are out, UP’s AYUSH department will drop the counselling schedule. It’s different from MBBS counselling, so don’t get confused. You go to upayushcounseling.upsdc.gov.in and register when the link opens. They take around ₹2,000 for registration. Keep checking, because they won’t call you.

3. Choice filling is where people slip up

When the portal lets you pick colleges, search for “Bhartiya Ayurvedic Medical College, Amroha” and add it. If you actually want this place, put it near the top. It’s on NH-24 and close to Delhi-NCR, so seats vanish quickly. Add backup colleges too, just to be safe.

4. Allotment happens in 3–4 rounds

They’ll give you a seat based on your NEET rank, your category, and the order you filled. If BAMC Amroha shows up in your allotment letter, congrats. Last year the general cut around 130–140 NEET marks, but every year is different. Don’t assume.

5. Show up at the college with everything

Download that allotment letter and get to BAMC before the deadline. Carry all originals: 10th, 12th marksheets, NEET scorecard, domicile, caste certificate if you have one, Aadhaar, passport size photos. Pay the fees there and your seat is locked. Miss the date and they’ll just hand your seat to someone else in the next round. No appeals.

Stuff that trips people up every year:

1. You need UP domicile for state quota. Out-of-state folks only get a shot at All India Quota, and there are barely any seats.

2. 12th marks matter. General needs 50% in PCB, SC/ST/OBC need 40%. They check it when you report. Low marks = rejection even with NEET score.

3. Counselling dates aren’t flexible. If you forget to register or miss a round, UP AYUSH won’t open the portal just for you.

How BAMC Amroha NEET Cutoff Has Changed Over the Years

The cutoff for BAMC Amroha isn’t fixed. It moves up or down every year, and honestly it depends on a bunch of things. How tough NEET was, how many kids applied for BAMS, how many seats were left in UP that year, and just the general mood during counselling. If the NEET paper was hard, cutoffs drop a bit. If everyone scores high, the closing rank shoots up.

What I have seen in the last few years is simple: BAMS isn’t the backup option it used to be. More students are actually choosing Ayurveda now, so the competition has gone up. Kids with decent NEET scores grab seats in round 1 or 2. If your score is on the lower side, you’re basically waiting for round 3 or mop-up and hoping seats are still there.

The table below gives you a rough idea of how things have shifted. These aren’t exact numbers for every category or round, just the trend so you know what to expect. Cutoffs always change with the round and your category.

Admission yearApproximate NEET Score RangeCutOff Trend
2021180–220 Moderate
2022190–230 Slight Increase
2023200–240 Competitive
2024210–250 Higher Competition
2025220–260 Competitive Trend Continue

College and Hostel Facilities at BAMC Amroha

The college has classrooms, labs for anatomy, physio, and Dravyaguna, a library with Ayurveda texts, IT infrastructure, and an auditorium.

The 100-bed hospital is the main learning spot. You start clinical postings from 2nd year. Panchakarma, Ksharsutra, and OPD exposure is decent because of patient flow from rural areas.

Hostels for boys and girls are inside campus with 24/7 security, Wi-Fi, and mess. Most students stay here since Amroha town is small and the highway location makes daily travel tough.

Common Questions About BAMC Amroha

1. What are the basic requirements to join BAMS at BAMC Amroha?

To get into BAMS here you have to finish 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as your main subjects. For General category students the college asks for at least 50% marks in PCB together, while SC and ST students need 40%. You also have to be 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year. Most importantly, you must clear NEET UG in the same year. Without a valid NEET score you cannot even register for UP AYUSH counselling, which is the only way seats are given out.

2. Does BAMC Amroha take students outside of counselling?

No, and that’s something a lot of parents ask. The college has 60 seats every year for BAMS and all of them are filled only through UP AYUSH counselling based on NEET UG rank. There is no separate management quota or direct admission desk where you can pay extra and get a seat. If anyone promises you a seat without counseling, be careful. The college follows the state allotment list strictly and you have to report with your allotment letter to confirm admission.

3. How much NEET score should I target for a safe seat here?

NEET cutoffs move every year, so there’s no fixed number. But looking at recent trends helps. In 2025 the UROP closing rank went till about 10.9 Lakh in the Stray Round, which came to around 130 to 140 marks for General. If you can score 140 or above you’re in a comfortable spot and might get a seat in round 1 or 2 itself. With 130–135 you’ll probably wait till round 3 or mop-up. Below 125 it becomes a gamble and depends on how many seats are left.

4. Do students get paid during the 1 year internship at BAMC?

No, you don’t get a stipend during internship here because BAMC is a private college. Government Ayurvedic colleges sometimes give a small monthly amount, but private ones usually don’t. So you should budget for hostel, mess, and personal expenses for that whole final year. The good part is that the internship happens in BAMC’s own 100-bed hospital on campus, so you won’t have to travel or arrange a separate hospital posting.

5. Is a BAMS degree from BAMC Amroha valid for practice in India?

Yes, the degree is completely valid. BAMC Amroha is approved by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine, NCISM, and the Ministry of AYUSH. It is affiliated to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University, Gorakhpur. Once you finish the 5.5 year course and your internship, you can register with the UP Board of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicine or any state board. After registration you can legally practice as an Ayurvedic doctor anywhere in India.
