Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU) is a state university located in Lucknow and was established in 2005. The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI) and is considered the National Law University. As per India Today 2024 Ranking, RMLNLU is ranked 8th among Law Colleges in India
RMLNLU Lucknow offers BA LLB (Hons), LLM, PhD and PG Diploma courses for eligible candidates. Admission to BA LLB (Hons) is based on CLAT UG scores and CLAT PG scores for the LLM program. NLU Lucknow offers 169 Seats for BA LLB (Hons) and 48 Seats for the LLM program. For PhD Admission, candidates must appear for the entrance test and personal interview conducted by the university. RMLNLU annual intake is 22 seats for PhD programs. The university offers placement and internships at top law firms and corporate houses such as AZB & Partners, DSK Legal, Clasis Law, BMR Legal Advocates, Trilegal, and others.
RMLNLU Scholarship
RMLNLU offers scholarships for students to aid them in pursuing higher education. Students from the SC / ST / OBC category of Uttar Pradesh and the Unreserved category with annual income less than INR 2 LPA are offered scholarships under various schemes of the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh. RMLNLU also offers Central Sector Scholarships for the top 5 eligible candidates belonging to the SC / ST category. Students are eligible for full tuition fee reimbursement along with living expenses of INR 2200 per month, INR 3000 per annum for books and stationery and INR 45000 per annum for computers/accessories.
RMLNLU also offers financial aid for students under the UGC Scheme of “Free Education for Sports Medal Winner / Participants of National/International Events” and National Handicapped Finance under Development Corporation (NHFDC) for students with disabilities.
RMLNLU Facilities
RMLNLU is spread across 43 acres of land and offers facilities for students such as a library, moot court, hostel, swimming pool and sports facilities. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled and has 24/7 electricity to facilitate students with comfortable stay on campus. Some of the facilities offered by NLU Lucknow are as follows:
- Library: RMLNLU Library has a collection of over 30,000 books along with journals, e-books, CD-ROMs, magazines, newspapers, thesis and other resources. Students can also access the digital library for research purposes.
- Hostel: The university offers separate hostels for boys and girls on campus with well-furnished rooms, well-cooked meals along basic amenities.
- Conference Hall: The conference hall has a seating capacity of 350 people to aid in lectures, conferences, meetings and other activities.
- Moot Court: The moot court at RMLNLU aids students with the preparation of court proceedings and exercises. All BA LLB (Hons) students of the university are eligible to be members of the moot court.
- Swimming Pool: RMLNLU has an Olympic standard swimming pool with well-maintained pool water, and separate hygienic shower rooms with lifeguards and essential staff.
- Sports: Students are offered indoor and outdoor sports facilities on campus with a Lawn Tennis Court, Badminton Court, and Football grounds.
- Other Facilities: The university has houses banking facilities, a shopping complex, guest houses and seminar halls on campus.
