History
In this modern era of technological advancement, global industrialization and optimum utilization of resources in scientific and sophisticated manner, technical revolution has grown up as the keyword in almost every field in this world.
In continuum to the broad scenario of technological impart, through Knowledge, our institute, Government Women’s Polytechnic, Patna was established, as a new multicoloured feather in the golden crown of women empowerment endeavours, with a tag line and motto, “Empowerment through Knowledge”.
The institution was established in the year 1984-85 vide Govt. notification 4202 dated 12-10-1984, under Deptt. of Science & Technology, Govt. of Bihar, with the objective of enhancing the women’s participation in technical education and improving the quality education according to the modern updated standards, globally accepted worldwide.
At its inception, the institution started with total intake of 30 students in two diploma courses viz. Library Science & Secretarial practice. There had been a steady and gradual development over the years and the institution, at present, is imparting education in six different trades/ courses with total intake of 270 students including Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computers Science & Engineering, Architectural Assistantship, Library Science and Modern Office Practice.
The lush green campus is spread over 07 acres, sylvan landscapes with plenty of greenery. The natural beauty with the soothing atmosphere, refreshing environment, peace and comfort inside the campus which makes it a wonderful place to live and learn.
Today the campus houses a Main Building, Students Hostels, Workshop Building, various labs related to the specific branches, computer labs, Library , Language lab, Edu-Sat Lab and several other modern standard facilities.
Over the decades, the institute has produced Dynamic Diploma Engineers with creative skills and having a great excellence in various disciplines, with multidimensional abilities, technical expertise and overall entrepreneurship, affinity towards the development of the nation and society. Our students have won numerous awards in academics as well as socio-cultural activities and on the whole have succeeded in contributing humble positive efforts towards the building of a progressive society.
Principal's Message
I feel highly delighted on the occasion of launching our new website for the Institute. In this website students will get complete information of educational and other activities of the institute. As such this institute is not only imparting regular diploma education but it is also open to general mass and youth to learn and develop technical skill for the betterment of their career. Teachers and staff of this institution are whole heartedly engaged in developing the technical skill of enthusiastic youth who wants to do something special and worthwhile in their life. Institution is engaged right from 8.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. in different activities. These activities and programs are running under overall guidance of the central and state government under the framework, norms and conditions laid down for various technical courses. Students can select the activity of their own choice according to their education and ability.
So I suggest them that they must visit programs like community Development through Polytechnic (C.D.T.P), KYP , PMKVY , BSDM , IRG and different schemes of computer education for the choice of relevant courses.
India today is a global hub and fulcrum of ongoing expansion of scientific and technical manpower. In our vast national network pre-occupied with this task, our institution too has a pride of place contributing its mite enough to make a niche and standing of its own.
