History
Nalanda College of Engineering is a Government Engineering College working under the Department of Science and Technology. It has been established by the Government of Bihar in 2008. It is situated on the holy land where Lord Buddha experienced enlightenment and Lord Vardhaman Mahavir embraced Nirvana. It belongs to the land of ancient Nalanda University where students across the world would study Buddhism. Initially in the year 2008 it offered B. Tech. Degree in four programs namely Computer Science & Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. In the subsequent year, four more programs i.e. B. Tech. in Aeronautical Engineering, B. Tech. in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, M.Tech in power System and Computer Science & Engineering came into existence. Each branch for B.Tech consists of 60 students and the total number of students is around 1200.

Nalanda College of Engineering is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to the Aryabhatta knowledge University(AKU) Patna (Bihar).
Administration
Administration and Management:- NCE Chandi College of Engineering is a full-fledged Govt. Institution in the Deptt. of Science & Technology, Govt. of Bihar and is bound to function as such. However in Academic and related areas it has to be responsive and participants in the decisions and deliberations of All India Council for Technical Education and other apex bodies like Indian School for Technical Education, Technical Teachers Training Institutes etc. ensuring innovations in Pedagogical and practical aspects of Technical Education. The Administration and Management of the Institute are oriented to these ends too.
Though the Principal is the overall in-charge of all activities and movements of the Institute for smooth functioning and making administration work efficient the following service departments work each under a Professor of proven capability.
