History Of SIT
Sitamarhi Institute of Technology (SIT) is government engineering college wholly funded by Government of Bihar and administrated by Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education, Patna. It is situated in Sitamarhi district of Bihar.
Sitamarhi Institute of Technology, Sitamarhi is affiliated to Bihar Engineering University, Patna and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. It was established in 2016 and offers 4 year B.Tech course in Six disciplines of Engineering i.e. Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering with Computer Applications, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Artificial Intelligence & Machine learning. It takes admission in B.Tech programme through BCECE, Bihar on the basis of JEE. The college has been consistently maintaining excellent academic result.

Administration and Management:- Sitamarhi Institute Of Technology is a full-fledged Govt. Institution in the Deptt. of Science Technology & technical Education, Govt. of Bihar and is bound to function as such. However in Academic and related areas it has to be responsive and participants in the decisions and deliberations of All India Council for Technical Education and other apex bodies like Indian School for Technical Education, Technical Teachers Training Institutes etc. ensuring innovations in Pedagogical and practical aspects of Technical Education. The Administration and Management of the Institute are oriented to these ends too.
Though the Principal is the overall in-charge of all activities and movements of the Institute for smooth functioning and making administration work efficient the following service departments work each under a Professor of proven capability.
