GPCET was established in 2007, is affiliated to the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur. The institute is recognized by the Government of Karnataka and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and its B.Tech programs are accerdiated by NBA (National Board of Accreditation), & NAAC with grade A. In 2024 IIRF ranked it 95 in its engineering category.

GPCET Admission 2025
GPCET offers courses in Science and Management. B.Tech and M.Tech are the most popular courses at GPCET. The B.Tech program has six specialisations. Admission to 70% of the B.Tech program is through the EAMCET entrance exam, which is conducted in the months of May and admission done in the months of June-July.
M.Tech has three specialisations, which include Electrical Power System, Computer Science And Engineering and Digital Electronics & Communication Systems.
