Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology, and Sciences (SHUATS), established in 1910, has the honor of being the first agricultural university in India. The varsity offers UG and PG programs in the field of Agriculture, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, and more.
The most popular programs at SHUATS Allahabad are D.Pharma, B.Pharma, B.B.A (H) Agri-Business Management. Admission to these undergraduate programs is strictly based on the merit rank obtained by the candidates in SOETAP (SHUATS Online Entrance Test for Agriculture & Pharmacy) followed by merit-based counselling. The application process for the same is online which is made available on the official website of the varsity.
SHUATS is also popular for conducting the best research studies in the field of Plant Protection, Biochemistry, Soil water land engineering management, Home science, Food tech, Dairy Sciences, and Agricultural sciences. The varsity conducts an entrance examination for admission to the Ph.D. programs. Shortlisted candidates are then invited for further interview process.
SHUATS Placements
SHUATS placement 2024 is still ongoing. The institute has a training and placement cell that aims to provide 100% placement opportunities. The average salary package varies from INR 4-6 LPA. The highest package offered to the students of SHUATS in 2024 is INR 10 LPA. The average package stood at INR 6.2 LPA. The varsity also offers internship opportunities to students from semester 2 to semester 8 where they are offered from 4K per month to 30k per month.
SHUATS Scholarships
SHUATS offers various scholarships to bonafide students of the varsity, who have a good extraordinary academic record and belong to a weaker socio-economic background. Eligible Students can avail of the state, National (NSP), Scholarship & UGC – JRF Fellowship. Some of the scholarships offered are:

- Chaplain’s Scholarship: These scholarships are available only to poor and needy Christian students
- SHUATS-DU work scholarship: SHUATS provides financial assistance to students as an “Earn While Learning Scheme” where students can study while working for SHUATS. Selected UG and PG students are paid INR 25 per hour. The maximum earning of a student per month is INR 1000. Students are required to work for a minimum of 40 hours per month.
- Yeshu Darbar Scholarship: These scholarships are available only to poor and needy Christian students.
