Patliputra University, Patna was established on 18th March, 2018, by the order of the Government of Bihar, vide Letter/memo no. 15/M1-71/2016-700, dated 09.04.2018. All the colleges of Patna and Nalanda districts, Bihar (India), fall under the jurisdiction of the Patliputra University except those attached to the Patna University. The University has control over 25 constituent colleges, two government girls colleges, three minority colleges and a number of affiliated colleges. Many of these colleges are running university-approved post-graduate centres in various subjects besides skill-oriented courses in vocational and technical/professional areas. These affiliated units are governed by their governing local bodies and duly constituted management board approved by the university.

Ques. In what ways can students approach the Student Grievance Cell at PPU?

Ans. The students of PPU can apply for their grievance in brief through email (studentgrievance@ppup.ac.in). The details of the grievance with documental proof against any office/official/staff of the University against whom the grievance or complaint is being lodged must be submitted in hard copy to the office of DSW, PPU. UG/PG students studying in various colleges of PPU will register their grievance in the “Student Grievance Redressal Cell (SGRC)” of their respective colleges. In case the college refuses to consider his/her complaint or the student is not satisfied with the decisions of the SGRC of his/her college, then only he/she will file a complaint with the University’s SGRC after 15 days of filing the grievance in their respective colleges..

Ques. What is NAD at the PPU Portal?

Ans. Digi Locker and NAD are initiatives of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Ministry of Education (MoE), respectively. The concept of National Academic Depository (NAD) was born out of an initiative by MoE to provide a 24/7 online depository to Academic institutions to store and publish their academic awards. The digital depository not only ensures easy access to and retrieval of an academic award but also validates and guarantees its authenticity and safe storage. Digi Locker is a provider of NAD services and aims at ‘Digital Empowerment’ of citizens by providing access to authentic digital documents to citizens’ digital document wallet. The issued documents in the Digi Locker system are deemed to be at par with original physical documents as per Rule 9A of the Information Technology (Preservation and Retention of Information by Intermediaries providing Digital Locker facilities) Rules, 2016. Maintaining academic awards in an electronic depository would provide benefits to educational institutions, students and employers by enabling online access of academic awards which will eliminate the need for persons to approach educational institutions for obtaining transcripts of such awards for verification.
